Recorded live and fully improvised in Brooklyn, New York, IN THE HEART pulls listeners into the riptide of the Broken Robots’ search for the profound—in the profane, mundane, and insane.

From chaos to communion, from hard rock to psychedelic jazz, the Broken Robots will go anywhere at any time. Their spontaneous compositions are born of a unique push-me pull-you relationship between one-of-a-kind vocalist Dan Jachym and a stellar band (Dan Blake on saxophone, Elias Meister on guitar, Dmitry Ishenko on bass, and Dave Treut on drums).

For this show, the hand-drawn heart on Jachym’s threadbare t-shirt provides all the direction the group needs to find itself on the edge of the fourth dimension. The challenge for listeners is to pinpoint the precise moment when Jachym rips his heart shirt in half—and to wonder: What is IN THE HEART?
